If you are worried or concerned about the storms, our advice to you is to simply evacuate. Do not stick around to weather the storm if you are uneasy about it. Designate someone that is staying to check on your home when it is safe to do so. Please if you have any pets, and cannot bring them with you — find someone to care for them. Do not leave them outside or chained to a fence.

Take pictures of your home prior to the storm — the interior and exterior. If you have any personal belongings that are sentimental and can be taken with you, pack them up and take them.

Don’t forget to write down important phone numbers for your friends or family on a piece of paper in case your phone does not work.

Also, remember past a certain wind speed first responders are unavailable until the wind does reach below the designated level. Ensure you have proper medication and supplies to whether the storm.
